The EU AI Act Deadline Is Real: What CX Teams Must Do Now
August 2, 2026 is 109 days away. That is the date when the remaining provisions of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act become fully enforceable, including the obligations that apply directly to enterprises deploying AI in customer-facing applications. What Comes After August 2026
August 2, 2026 is a significant milestone, but it is not the end of the EU AI Act's rollout. Article 6(1), which covers certain high-risk AI system categories, becomes applicable later. The EU AI Act also creates an ongoing compliance obligation, not a one-time certification. Organizations need governance processes that monitor their AI systems continuously, not just a deadline-driven sprint.
The organizations that treat August 2 as a forcing function to build real AI governance infrastructure will be in a substantially better position than those that treat it as a checkbox exercise. The enterprises that invest in governance now are building the foundations for sustainable AI deployment in a regulatory environment that is only going to become more demanding.
